At Haven Medical Centre, we are committed to providing timely, respectful, and high-quality care for all our patients. The following guidelines help us maintain an efficient clinic environment and ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

Appointment Cancellations and No-Shows

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the appointment time to another patient in need. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, will be recorded as no-shows and may be subject to a fee in accordance with our clinic policy. Appointments can be cancelled by email, through your Pomelo account, or by calling the clinic.

Test Results

To protect patient privacy and ensure appropriate follow-up, test results are generally not discussed over the phone by reception staff. Reception staff cannot provide, interpret, or discuss test results. If your results require medical follow-up, treatment changes, or further discussion, our team will contact you to schedule an appointment with your doctor. To view your results, please register for or log in to your account at https://myhealth.alberta.ca/account.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. All physicians and staff at Haven Medical Centre are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information. We adhere to strict privacy standards and take every reasonable precaution to ensure your information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and professional standards. Please notify the clinic whenever there is a change to your emergency contact information, personal contact information, or power of attorney.

Respectful Environment

We provide a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. We kindly ask that all interactions within the clinic remain courteous and respectful. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour toward staff, physicians, or other patients will not be tolerated.

Arriving for Your Appointment

Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow for check-in and any necessary paperwork. Please be prepared to have your blood pressure checked at every visit. Depending on the type of appointment, we may also check your height and weight. Bringing your Alberta Health Care card and any relevant medical information will help us serve you more efficiently.
